It’s that day where the right wing always freaks out about people celebrating their Mexican heritage. Strangely enough, they never freak out about people celebrating their Irish heritage on St. Patrick’s Day. Nothing to do with skin color I’m sure. [/s]

You should only buy Hellman’s (Best Foods) brand because there is no better mayo in the world, and I’ve tried lots. I can even find it down here if I look hard enough. Generally made in the UK. Beats hell out of any Aussie or other mayonnaise, of which there are heaps.

Honestly I think all mayo smells and tastes like spoiled eggs. I only use it to moisten tuna for tuna salad for making tuna sandwiches, nothing else. I usually do buy Best/Hellman’s, but sometimes buy the store brand and find that it’s no better or worse. But then, I don’t like mayo.

I don’t know where you live but here in Buffalo, EVERYONE celebrates Cinco de Mayo. All the bars have drink specials (Margueritas, Corona, Dos Equis), they serve complimentary chips & salsa, many of them have tacos & burritos as well, for just a few dollars. EVERYONE loves Cinco de Mayo! It’s another great drinking holiday, right up there with St. Patty’s Day, Mardi Gras, Dyngus Day (a Polish holiday celebrated the day after Easter) & all the other ethnic holidays we Buffaloians celebrate.
To constantly say it’s about the color of skin is ridiculous. Have you ever been to Mexico? Mexico is a huge country. It has MANY people of many different ethnic backgrounds & many different colors of skin. There are plenty of white folks in Mexico. It’s not a place where “brown” skins live, anymore than in the US.
If you want racism to end, then stop talking racist cant & stop ranting about race. Lots of us are sick to death of this shit. We belong to families with multi-ethnicities & find this kind of talk highly offensive.
