Alex Jones used the “C” word today, saying that the FBI actions are part of an internal preemptive coup against Hillary Clinton (no linky, I don’t link to his site). Huh. Since when am I and Alex Jones on the same goddamn wavelength? Maybe I ought to reconsider what I wrote yesterday, hmm.
Or maybe not. It turns out that the story about Trump’s server and the Russian bank, which I presumed came out of the NSA, actually appears to have come out of the CIA. According to a national security reporter for CNN, there appears to be a internal war of sorts going on between the CIA (pro-Hillary) and the FBI (pro-Trump), where each is attempting to sway the election in their candidates’ favor. Which, if true, is horrifying. Feuding national security agencies trying to sway the selection of the next President is something you expect in some dumbass banana republic, not in a supposed democracy.
So anyhow, this seems an awful lot like an internecine Ivy League feud. CIA is white male preppies from Yale. FBI is white male preppies from Harvard (actually, they’ve diversified a bit since then due to the need to find computer-literate and accounting-literate people, but that’s where they used to recruit an awful lot of their agents from). So basically we got Yale vs Harvard. Yay. White male upperclass Ivy League twits all around.
As a special treat, I have come across footage of CIA versus FBI agents competing in sports:
