This really does need the good speakers, they make it sound way ominous. But you probably need to have the actual album version, since this video predates HD TV. Not sure whether the entire album is worth buying, but this song certainly is.
I was somewhat surprised that the imagery of the video actually related to the song. I thought they had stopped doing that sometime in the late 80s, and everything now was conceptual and unconnected. OTOH, I don’t watch many music videos. I recall there used to be a cable channel that showed them…
The imagery of the video was only somewhat related to the song. The song was inspired by the story of a racist white man murdering his cheating wife’s (black) boyfriend, from what I gather on the grapevine. Of course, making a video that truly represented the content of the song (or making the content of the song clearer in the first place) would have resulted in a lot of people being appalled and accusing Low themselves of being racist, so … (shrug). What can you do?
