The Breeders, “Iris”, off their 1990 debut album Pod. This pop-trip-punk album hit the music market of 1990 with a dull sickening thud, and proved about as popular as hitting yourself over the head with a hammer. The album has, however, worn quite a bit better than the album that was the #1 album of 1990 — Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation. Kim Deal was the real deal and the album is timeless. Janet Jackson… meh. Just another fad of the moment.
